Lisa jackson ready to die download

In this book detectives Regan Pescoli and Selena Alverez are not only looking for the sniper who brought down the Sherriff, but a missing judge without realizing they are on the se I grabbed a book in this series a while back, I liked it so much, I decided to read the entire series.

Sherriff Grayson is in intensive care with two bullet wounds; although he has made it through surgery, he has yet to regain consciousness. When the judge is found shot to death a few days later the partners realize they are tracking a psychopathic serial killer, again!

While Pescoli and Alverez start whittling down the suspect list, something niggles at the back of their minds; something that could blow this case wide open! When the information finally clicks in each of them, the partners are not together and Pescoli heads alone with Alverez close but not close enough behind, they are both willing to do what they must to avenge the Sherriff they both love.

Pescoli and the mad man will face off both willing to die! Aug 09, Julie rated it really liked it Shelves: mystery , netgalley. Man, this book I have read hundreds of books in tons of different genres. But only if a few conditions are met: 1. I detest reading about some perfect person who lives in the perfect house with a perfect dog, the 2. I want someone who has been down in the trenches, who has had bad stuff happen t Lisa. I want someone who has been down in the trenches, who has had bad stuff happen to them and they have dusted themselves back off, sworn to never make that same mistake again, only to make that same mistake again!

I guess I could have said just a regular person. But what fun would that have been? I would really like it if I couldn't pick out the killer. If I can pick out the villain in the first couple chapters, I get very angry and refuse to read the book for minutes while it's in time out and had time to think about what it's done.

I'll probably finish the book The word of the day is: twistyturney. There have to be lots of twistyturneys in the book. Okay, if all of those conditions are met, then that makes a happy reader me. It has been too long since I have picked up a Jackson book and I really regret that now. I feel like I have missed out on a great series and now after the mountain of books that I have to read is a bit smaller, I'm going to pick up the rest of the To Die series.

While there are quite a few characters, I felt like I knew where all of them were coming from. It was a bit much to keep up with at first but I quickly caught on. And maybe that would have been a non-issue if I had read the rest of the series.

I really felt like this could be a standalone book. I didn't feel anything was lacking in the story All in all, a great book.

Definitely one I'll pick up again and of course an author that I'll stop neglecting!! This was my least favorite book in Lisa Jackson "Ready to I've liked the characters, Alvarez and Pescoli in the past books, but didn't care for the story line and I couldn't connect with the new characters introduced, Hattie and Sheriff Grayson's family.

I also had a hard time following the suspects in the case, I kept forgetting who they were. I wanted to put the book down, but stuck with it because I was acquainted with the characters from the first four books. Sep 20, Holly Morey rated it liked it. I have enjoyed this series in the past but this was not one of my favorites.

I figured out most of the plot twists before they were revealed. Several plot lines were just left hanging and not really in a good way. Lisa Jackson has been one of my favorite female authors, but I have been a little disappointed in her last few novels. To me this book was just ho-hum.

Aug 08, Michelle rated it it was ok. I have followed this author for years and have enjoyed her books.

However, this one was a disappointment. More like 1. The plot about a new serial killer appearing few days after a previous has been caught is like a Frankenstein's creature stitched together from bits and pieces that had been used before, so you again get a villain with obligatory military training who just has to get naked before he does his push-ups.

The characters too have gone beyond ridiculous, especially in parent-children relations. Finally, the prose feels tired, and words like "haphazardl More like 1. Finally, the prose feels tired, and words like "haphazardly" appear twice in the same sentence, descriptions of persons are reduced to "relentless angel of death", and online accounts are "hidden on different computer".

Another good read. Feb 10, Twobchelm rated it really liked it. The characters who are so familiar at this point become more connected. More of their personal lives are explored as they again search for a killer.

Apr 06, Marilyn rated it really liked it. An enjoyable read— good crime drama with sub plots that had me guessing til almost the end and also the family dynamics of the two partners. Jul 12, J. Well, she's done it again. A book you don't want to put down to walk the dog, to eat a meal, or to go to bed. Pescoli and Alvarez are smart, determined and dedicated women who make the sheriff's department click. Ready to Die has more twists and turns than the Montana roads they travel.

And even though the temps here are in the 90s I shivered from the icy blasts of Mountain weather and the chilling scenes in the book. Don't miss it. Sep 20, Caroline rated it liked it Shelves: mystery , fiction , murder , police-investigation. I give this book a 2. It is hard to explain why, but all the time spent on the romantic interests, families, etc of the main characters got on my nerves. The soap opera format took a lot more space than the murder. I am guessing that if I had read some of the earlier books in this series first, I might have a different opinion.

I just purchased an earlier book so will keep an open mind and may come back and rerate this one later. An ok book. I skimmed parts of the book.

This was not one of her best. Mar 05, Paris kerbytejas rated it liked it Shelves: read I really felt that any mystery, or suspense was overshadowed by all of the family drama. I also didn't feel like there was much suspense in this book. Pescoli and her bratty kids were better in this book, but I am not sure why I keep listening to this series. It is barely 3 stars for me. This series has so many good reviews that I keep expecting it to get better, but except for Pescoli's annoying teenagers, it hasn't really gotten better. Nov 21, Anthony rated it really liked it. This is the fifth book in the series. The backstory of Regan and her partner progresses with each book and a series of flashbacks and memories set the pace for the present and future adventures. One again it is a Christmas time in Grizzly Falls Montana and yet another serial killer is disrupting the holiday spirit. This time a direct attack on the legal system and its members throws everything into chaos.

A few too many false leads and gut feelings provide clues to the true killers identity but there are still a few twists at the very end. Not really a spoiler, but rather a question When Alvarez gets domestic who fills the bread bowls with soup?

I think I spotted a minor unimportant goof in the storyline here. Jul 29, George rated it really liked it. It's Christmas in Grizzly Falls, Montana a prominent judge is murdered and Sheriff Dan Grayson lies near death after a shooting leaving the police department in shock and motivated to find the killer who sends a sinister warning to the press: "Who's Next?

Both are in new relationships and dealing with personal and family issues. There are also strong undercurrents in the interrelationships between the various characters contributing much to the story line. This is also basically a police procedural focusing upon the day-to-day grind of the investigation. Sep 04, Alf Goodall rated it liked it. I came across this novel lying about the house as I was looking for something to read very early in the morning when sleep eluded me.

I am not familiar with this series or other works by Lisa Jackson. Among other things this book is tagged as being a Romantic Suspense which pretty much sums it up. I did enjoy the mystery and in particular the twist at the end.

Like most series it would have helped to start with the first book and work forward, however, Lisa does a good job of making the reader aware of the essentials of the relationships.

With one of the main characters out of action I am not sure I will want to read the 6th in the series, although while it is a long shot, there is no reason he might not recover. It may be worth reading just to find out if he does. Oct 02, Elizabeth Noah Astle rated it it was amazing. Another serial killer has come to grizzly falls. This one has shot the sheriff.

As pescoli and Alvarez scramble to find out who the killer is. Brewster steps in as acting sheriff. I really liked this book. It expanded more on Hattie, though I am not sure about her and her choices but, I did like learning more about her. Even Jeremy and Bianca got some page time as well, along with others. I know Santana gave pescoli and ultimatum and I was not surprised by her decision though I was a bit surpris Another serial killer has come to grizzly falls.

I know Santana gave pescoli and ultimatum and I was not surprised by her decision though I was a bit surprised at the kicker given at the end--i won't say so I won't spoil it. Looking forward to grab the next book one series from the library. Jan 20, Loretta rated it it was amazing. In this one, Selena is in an affair with O'Keefe, but extremely worried about the Sheriff Dan Grayson, who was shot by a sniper. Then the judge is discovered and she was shot by a sniper.

I never seem to read books in the order that they are written, this didn't seem to be a problem for this story line. Lisa did a good job in quickly bringing these characters up to speed but in some cases I wondered why they were a part of the story. I did notice a few errors that got by the editors one being that when she entered a room she hung her coat on the back of the chair, next page the same thing, did the coat fall off of the chair.? I rate books according to how much I enjoyed the I never seem to read books in the order that they are written, this didn't seem to be a problem for this story line.

I rate books according to how much I enjoyed the story line and I must say that once again this was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to others who are a fan of Lisa Jackson.

Although I have read lots of books from this genre over the years, this is only my second by Lisa Jackson. Sep 29, Amy rated it really liked it. My only comment on this book really has nothing to do with the book itself, but that there was a review posted here on Goodreads that I saw after I had started reading this, but before I finished, that gave away the ending in the very first sentence.

I was only looking at the stars, but by this being in the very beginning of the review, it was impossible not to see.
