I believe I have narrowed it down to enabling the Screen Saver and setting that to "Blank. I had to hard reset. I turned off the screen saver and now it is stable coming out of sleep and lock mode. It may be an HP issue.
Also check to see if your video drivers are up to date. Lastly, check out HP's Business Support forums. I get a lot of good info there for my model.

Posted January 19, Posted January 20, I run Windows 7 Prof on a Dell T pretty well very successfully plus a couple of other machines. All have a lot of mapped network drives. Overnight, some machines Sleep. I have a problem that I haven't solved yet in that when I resume from Sleep, I get this error message for every network mapped drive that has a drive or folder view open 10 or more of them in one case!
Microsoft Windows Network. The local device name is already in use. The Explorer window is generally blank at this point but regains its view of the drive or network folder on hitting F5. Doesn't windows know that it has resumed from sleep and maybe needs to recheck the the mapped drives before issuing the error?
It doesn't happen when resuming from Hibernation I notice. Is there a way of stopping the error message or do I have to live with it? Your error message says: " The local device name is already in use ". What exactly is the problem drive letter being used for at that stage? Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. All's I can say is that it's being used to map exactly what it was being used for before it went to Sleep That's why I don't understand the message myself! It doesn't make sense. As I said, if I hit F5 then all returns to normal for the drive mapping.
Looking at Explorer's Computer view, all the mapped drives will show as failed red crosses on return from Sleep. Hitting F5 then will restore ALL the mappings immediately.
